Elysian Tower

The country's tallest building, The Elysian, officially opened its doors yesterday, Wednesday, September 17, to invited guests from all over Ireland.

Set in three architecturally driven acres, The Elysian's luxurious apartments, developed by the O'Flynn Group, range in price from €375,000 for the one bedroom apartments up to €2m for the Triplex Penthouses.

Among those in attendance were Michael O'Flynn, Chairman and Managing Director of the O'Flynn Group, who hosted the opening event. Speakers included Ministers Micheál Martin TD, Batt O'Keeffe TD, Deputy Lord Mayor Patricia Gosch, Bishop John Buckley and Munster and Irish rugby star Ronan O'Gara who MC'd the opening ceremony.

The Elysian's residential tower stands at 83m in height over 17 floors, 11 meters higher then Liberty Hall in Dublin, the previous holder of the title of Ireland's tallest building. Owners O'Flynn Construction have facilitated visits by Architects, Engineers and Developers over recent weeks from around the country. Designed by Wilson Architecture, the apartment interiors were completed by the internationally renowned design group Taylor Howes Designs of London. The landscaping is by the team that designed and built the multiple Gold Award winning Irish Garden in the World Expo 90, in Osaka, Japan.

The overall development consists of 211 luxury apartments including 37 penthouse apartments, with secure underground car parking. A concierge facility will be available, the basement car park has over 550 car spaces, and retail, restaurant, crèche and gym facilities at ground level. The apartments are set around a podium garden park of trees and water features for apartment owners to relax or exercise.

"The multi-million Elysian is now Cork's most prestigious address and the name for the most luxurious apartments in Ireland, and you'll find them right in the heart of Cork City. Set in three acres, next to City Hall, you are promised a private and unique inner garden spectacle, unlike anything this side of Japan, created by Japanese and Irish craftsmen and incorporating mature specimen trees, stone, water cascades and a central sculpture of copper, coming together to provide an oasis in the heart of the City, surrounded by the most beautiful apartments in Ireland. This is a unique upmarket development and beautiful living environment with all the advantages of a city centre setting," said Trish Stokes of Sales Agents Sherry FitzGerald.
